07 October 2006
This edition of Perceptions contains two articles.
In the first article, David Perry, looks at the distribution of share prices in Australia (which is compared to the USA) and the issue of stock splits (and consolidations).
David suggests that the level of a company’s share price says something about the “status” of the company in a market relative to other companies. He also suggests that decisions about stock splits and consolidations are influenced by a company’s price-point positioning in the investment market. In the second article, VEM associates Dr. Larry Cromwell (Melbourne) and Janet Payne (Sydney), give an account of how VEM has extended a popular IR tool (the perception study) to a different stakeholder audience, in this case, management, to provide strategic guidance during a process of major corporate change. This article is especially timely in view of the increasing corporate activity in Australia and the importance of people and culture issues to effecting successful acquisitions.
I hope you enjoy this issue of Perceptions.
